President, Carrie McPherson Douglass

Carrie Douglass is an elected Bend-La Pine School Board member, the co-founder and CEO of a national nonprofit called School Board Partners, and the co-founder and co-owner of The Haven - a coworking and event space, and Cascade Relays - a running race management company. She was born and raised in Bend and lives here with her husband, Scott, and two daughters, Cora and Cassie.

Treasurer, Luann Abrams 

Luann Abrams has worked in aviation, venture capital, and now CEOX, a mission-driven organization to elevate women into CEO roles. She is committed to getting more women into leadership positions for the benefit of all.

Caroline Fitchett

Caroline is a change agent for the causes and people working to make a difference across our communities. Fitchett has run dozens of candidate, ballot measure, and advocacy campaigns.  She founded the political consulting firm We Win Strategy Group dedicated to supporting candidates who are working parents, women, candidates of color, and those running in suburban and rural areas.

Whitney Swander

Whitney Swander grew up in Bend and is committed to making Central Oregon a place where diverse communities can thrive. Her professional work spans policy development, research and evaluation, and system transformation in local government and non-profit organizations. She is civically active and serves as a City of Bend Planning Commission, a Board Member to OCF's Latino Partnership Program, and recently served as Vice-Chair of Bend's Urban Renewal Advisory Board.

Molly Foerster 

Molly Foerster is involved in Central Oregon community politics after retiring from over 25 years in the high tech industry. Most recently she headed up Investor Relations and European Government Affairs for Qualcomm.

 

Scott Douglass


Raised in Bend, Scott Douglass served his country as a Naval Officer for 14 years before returning to his hometown with his wife Carrie, where they now focus their energy on serving their local community and raising two little girls.  Scott currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Boys & Girls Club, Board member of City Club of Central Oregon, Event Manager of TedxBend, member of the City of Bend's Parking Advisory Committee, and is a member of the Bend Chamber Advocacy Council.  Scott is the co-founder of Cascade Relays, Cascade Relays Foundation, and The Haven - Coworking Reimagined.

 

Zavier Borja 

Zavier Borja is a first generation Mexican-American, born and raised in Central Oregon. His passions include serving our youth and communities, equity, and getting outside. Zavier has worked for various youth programs for the past eight years, including the Boys and Girls Club, Bend Parks and Recreation District, and Education Outside in San Francisco. Most recently, Zavier worked for Bend-La Pine School District, as a Mentor Specialist for at-risk youth at Summit High School. In 2019, Zavi founded the Central Oregon chapter of Latino Outdoors.

 

Kathi Barguil

Kathy is a civil engineer who spends her days working on water and sewer projects in Bend, and after-hours dedicates herself to a number of initiatives & causes. An immigrant and Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, she deeply values civic responsibility and seeks to support more people in underrepresented groups to run for office and participate in civic life. An Emerge Oregon alumna, she is passionate about supporting progressive candidates in Central Oregon that value bodily autonomy and reproductive justice, humane immigration reform, and seek to implement policies that center human dignity and respect. On weekends you can find her hiking with her dog or reading from her library of Latin American & Caribbean classics.

Jasmine Wilder

Jasmine is the CEO and founder of Honeybeast Digital. She has a background in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, and Marketing Strategy. She is passionate about the continual transformation of the communications industry and the emerging digital and technological trends reshaping our shared global landscape. Jasmine earned an undergraduate degree in Public Relations. She continued her education and recieved an advanced degree in Global Strategic Communications at Georgetown University in 2019.

 

Kristen Wiest

Kristen Wiest is an Oregon Native and has called Central Oregon her home for the past 5 years.  Kristen is a counselor at Bend International School and is passionate about equity in education.  When not working Kristen can be found running the trails or spending time with her two kids.
